About sascha

Ah! The obligatory 'about me' box! Ok. I work full-time as a Mac technician for a company that doesn't respect my individuality (they try and impose these rules on me, like what time I arrive at work... what time I go home and how long I take for lunch). I'm a volunteer fire fighter ( http://www.keysboroughfirebrigade.com/ ) and that's lots of fun!! I've been a fire fighter since late 2004. Since 1996 I have been activly involved in Community Television and mostly work in live TV. I am currently a floor manager, and have been flooring for most of my time at the TV studio, I've also done some camera work, audio and lots of tech stuff for the shows I work on. I've successfully written my first PICBasic program (made a bunch of LEDs blink for a warning light used on the fire truck) and am trying out how to make LCD displays say stuff. I have built a couple of Nixie Clocks (one of which you can see on my flickr account here - http://www.flickr.com/photos/oflittleinterest/ ) and am completely addicted to the warm neon glow of the Nixie tube! I have recently re-learned to etch my own PCBs using the laser printer & press-n-peel method, works ok!
