Lego standoffs

I consider my legos more precious than my standoffs..

Question, will standoffs work as legos in a pinch? I've been missing this blue one since I was 9. That's about 25 years, and I've moved about 10 times.

Regrettably, I haven't come across any standoffs that make good Lego substitutes. On the bright side of using Lego pieces as standoffs, you can reclaim them later-- they aren't damaged by using them that way.
