D’OH! I’d been thinking of creating a laser knife cartridge for my cheap little vinyl cutter (after seeing the low power setting needed to cut polyester film on an Epilog). Doing that with an Eggbot makes ever so much more sense….
I’m thinking blue laser diode (couple of Watts, fairly cheap) – wouldn’t cut clear plastic worth anything, but with a suitable lens it ought to work on thin, colored materials.
Ah, well. I’ll be interested to see how that goes, and might try it myself as time and resources allow.
